Something Merry. Something Local. Something We Can’t Quite Tell You Yet.
There are two kinds of secrets: the ones you can keep comfortably, and the ones that make you want to blurt everything out every time someone asks, “What have you been working on?”
We are currently dealing with the second kind.
Behind the scenes at Sarcastic Narwhal Soap Co., there has been a whole lot of pouring, planning, scent testing, and trying very hard to act normal. Something festive is coming. Something local is coming. And our little narwhal is getting ready to venture into some new waters.
We’re keeping a few details tucked away for now, but we can give you some fairly generous hints.

Your December Calendar Might Need a Little Space
Let’s start with this: keep December 5 open.
Picture a small town dressed for the holidays. Twinkling lights. Greenery. That lovely feeling of finding a handmade gift that makes you think, “Oh, this is perfect for them.”
Now imagine getting to pick up our soaps, see the swirls up close, and smell the scents you have been reading about through a screen.
Because, unfortunately, smell-through-your-phone technology still has not caught up with our needs.
We’re preparing for a festive first, and we want it to feel like a little piece of Sarcastic Narwhal brought to life. Expect handmade goodness, a healthy amount of personality, and plenty of holiday cheer.
There will also be actual humans behind the soap. That means you can ask questions, compare favorites, and help settle the very serious matter of which scent deserves to come home with you.
We’re already thinking about the lights, the greenery, and how to fit all that narwhal energy into one cozy little space.
Consider this your unofficial save-the-date.
A Little Lakeside Inspiration
Our second secret has a different kind of sparkle.
Something special is taking shape through a local collaboration, and we have been working on soaps with a particular place and its people in mind.
Think lakeside living, thoughtful gifting, and scents that deserve a closer sniff.
This has given us a chance to approach the soapmaking process with a fresh question: how do we bring our handmade style and slightly sarcastic personality into something that also feels right for someone else?
The answer is coming together one loaf at a time.
We’re excited about the scents, the possibilities, and the chance for our bars to become part of another local story. There is something especially satisfying about building a connection close to home and seeing where a shared idea can lead.
We can’t reveal the name just yet. But if you find yourself looking around a familiar local spot and wondering whether the narwhal might make an appearance, you may be getting warmer.
Why the Extra Loaves?
If you have noticed more soapmaking photos lately, now you know there is a reason.
We’re preparing for both of these next steps while giving our cold-process bars the time they need to cure. The excitement might be moving quickly, but the soap still gets its weeks of patience.
That means the work starts well before the announcements.
Every loaf on the counter is bringing us a little closer to sharing what comes next, and it has been hard to keep the camera pointed at the soap without letting a few clues slip into the caption.
Keep Your Eyes on the Narwhal
For now, here is your assignment: circle December 5, keep an eye out for a little lakeside news, and follow along as we share more clues.
We’ll reveal the details when they’re ready.
Until then, we’ll be over here making soap and pretending we’re good at keeping secrets.
